About the event

Put your party hat on for this one: a 1980’s rock’n roll road movie straight out of Canada! The film tells the story of a young woman named Ramona who is sent out to the wilds of Northern Ontario by her music promoter boss to find “Children of Paradise,'' a wayward rock band whose singer has gone missing mid-tour. There’s only one problem, Ramona can’t drive. Armed with only a walkman and the clothes on her back she embarks on a journey that introduces her to a slew of oddball characters, including a cab driver with ties to Elvis Presly, a film director in search of a muse, a singer who’s lost his voice, and an aspiring serial killer determined to make it big. With the help of this strange group, Ramona hopes to push beyond her limits and mount a rock n’ roll show for the ages! One of the defining films of the Toronto New Wave. ROADKILL immediately turned heads in 1989 with its freewheeling punk rock style - and a memorable appearance by the one and only JOEY RAMONE. Boosting a now- legendary soundtrack full of local Canadian bands (and also the Ramones), this wickedly funny and enduringly hip DIY joyride will not disappoint. Buckle up!
