About the event
Tena tatou te whanau. Ngati Porou ki te kaenga, ki te whenua hoki. This Matariki weekend we are holding a Taiao Wananga at Iritekura Marae.
Planting and giving back to our whenua as kaitiaki. There will be lots of interesting korero to share and manuhiri from Ag research joining us. A chance to have a kai and korero about our histories and plan for the future.
Te Kahui Taiao o Waipiro is a roopu focused on enabling our hau kaenga to achieve aspirations for our Taiao. Our focus is Waipiro Bay and Te Puia Springs and the threat of Murtle rust, climate change and the impacts on the whenua and our people.
