About the event
For 50 years, From Scratch has pushed the boundaries of contemporary chamber music with performances where sound, image, and invention collide.
This September, the legendary New Zealand ensemble tours with Chamber Music New Zealand, presenting a multimedia programme that blends classic compositions, inventive DIY instruments, and short films by Kiwi filmmakers.
Additionally, they will present three short films by Kiwi filmmakers that the group will accompany on an assortment of surprising and entertaining instruments. Highlights include Phil Dadson’s Songs for Unsung Heroes and a selection of imaginative instruments, from giant PVC panpipes to springs and rods, creating a uniquely rhythmic and magical experience.
