Nominated for five Academy Awards (winning two), Breakfast at Tiffany's is a 1961 American romantic comedy, adapted from Truman Capote's 1958 novella of the same name, and starring Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly, a naïve, eccentric café society girl who falls in love with a struggling writer. The New York Times at the time called the film a "completely unbelievable but wholly captivating flight into fancy composed of unequal dollops of comedy, romance, poignancy, funny colloquialisms and Manhattan's swankiest East Side areas captured in the loveliest of colors." Unbelievability bedamned, she has an electric charisma on the screen, and a complicated past that she's trying to hide.
