The third and final instalment in his Red Curtain trilogy, this 2001 cult classic is a kaleidoscope of colour, emotion, and music, an opulent love letter to creativity, rebellion, and the heartbreak of loving too hard.
Set in the electric underworld of 1899 Paris, the story follows Christian, a wide-eyed English poet who arrives in Montmartre to chase the Bohemian dream. There, he falls hopelessly for Satine, the star courtesan of the Moulin Rouge and a woman caught between desire, duty, and a secret that threatens to eclipse them both. Their love blooms amidst velvet curtains, diamond-studded costumes, and a soundtrack that reimagines pop hits into powerful anthems of passion and defiance.
