About the event
An American independent romantic comedy-drama film written by, directed by and starring Vincent Gallo - and also starring Christina Ricci in a performance of a lifetime.
The film follows a man who is released from prison and subsequently kidnaps a young tap dancer, forces her to pretend to be his wife to impress his parents, and seeks revenge on the Buffalo Bills professional football kicker he blames for losing a championship game that he lost a bet on.
The film was made for just under $2 million. It was filmed on reversal stock to give it a classic look similar to that of American National Football League Film reels from the 1960s, with high colour saturation and contrast.
Vincent Gallo also wrote and composed the film score.
The film has since gained a cult following, especially in Japan.
A film like no other.
