About the event

Walkers and runners of all speeds and fitness levels meet at 5:55 am in the lower carpark of Titirangi/Kaiti Hill (near the playground) for a free stair workout that will fit you like a glove because you do what feels right for you! 

At 6:00 am the group does a quick briefing for any newcomers and by 6:01 the group heads off together to the first set of stairs. Walkers and runners of all paces really are welcome because it's a collective of friendly people all doing their own stair workout. There is no pressure to keep up or fear of dragging the chain. No one is tracking how many climbs you're doing except for you. 

The group tackle that first set of stairs anywhere between 1 and 5 times. After about 10-15 minutes, everyone re-groups at that mid-maunga lookout before heading up to the second half of the workout. Again, it's your call: walk or run, dirt trail or road, up to the stairs at the very top of Titirangi. There the group do anywhere from 2-7 loops of those stairs before moving on to some core exercises for 6-7 minutes. By 6:40-ish, everyone is feeling like a million bucks and heading down the hill. Many in the group take themselves straight over to Raglan Roast for a post-run coffee. 

The group meet all year round, with headtorches in the winter, in all kinds of weather (barring the dangerous kind). Join in! They'll be so happy to see you!
