About the event
Step into a moving piece of New Zealand history with Prince’s War, a dramatic monologue written and performed by Peter McKenzie.
Through storytelling, humour and reflection, Peter shares the journey of his Great Uncle Alex Agnew from a small South Canterbury farm to the deserts of Egypt during the First World War, before returning home to Aotearoa.
Central to the story is Alex’s horse Prince, one of the thousands of horses sent overseas during the war, echoing the experiences of many Kiwi families.
