Guided Tour of ECMoT

How many of us have been meaning to visit Gisborne's technology treasure trove the East Coast Museum of Technology but never quite made it? And how many of us have idled away the hours on our own at this fine establishment but wished we'd had a knowledgeable guide to explain more? ECMOT's outstanding volunteers will be stationed at various posts to regale us with stories about (almost) everything from Gisborne's rail history to a revamped computer classroom, where certain golden oldies of the 80s and 90s are highlighted. Did you know the main building was once the Kia Ora Dairy Factory? Did you know the site is home to the jail from Port Awanui or that the railway station building came from Matawhero?
