About the event
What to Expect: Each session of Haututu Hacks is a blend of hands-on project work, collaborative learning, and occasional workshops designed to expand skills and facilitate collisions. Whether you’re fine-tuning a personal project or diving into a team sprint, these nights are all about making, breaking, and remaking in the spirit of haututu (playfulness and curiosity).
Lunar-Guided Innovation: Harnessing the maramataka, our sessions are also guided by the lunar phases, turning each month into a powerful cycle of creation. Just as our tīpuna (ancestors) used the moon to guide their activities, we use it to pace our projects. Whether it’s the moon for setting intentions or the full moon for bringing projects to fruition and showcase time, you can also align your creativity with the natural rhythms that have guided generations.
Who Should Attend: Haututu Hacks is open to adults only at this stage (18+) —whether you’re a seasoned hacker of wicked problems, a curious newbie, or someone passionate about blending culture with creativity. If you’re looking to explore new technologies, work on innovative projects, and learn in a community-driven environment, this is your space.
New attendees can use this opportunity to be introduced to the space for free and once familiar, can become a Haututu Hacklab member for as little as $15 per week.
