About the event
Soil expert Jacopo Orazi (Radice Soil), based in Tairāwhiti, will be in the māra for the day, guiding participants step-by-step through the art of creating a Johnson-Su composting system.
The Johnson-Su system is a low-tech, non-turned aerobic bioreactor that produces highly fungal-dominant, nutrient-rich compost over 9–12 months. It supports diverse microbial life essential for healthy soil, without creating odours or attracting pests.
This hands-on workshop is open to anyone passionate about improving soil structure and growing healthy kai.
The session runs from 9am–3pm, with the price including a delicious lunch of hot soup and sourdough.
