When fate brings Belfast schoolteacher JJ (DJ Próvai) into the orbit of self-confessed "low life scum" Naoise (Móglaí Bap) and Liam Og (Mo Chara), the needle drops on a hip hop act like no other. Based on the origin story of the riotous and ground-breaking Irish-language rap trio Kneecap, the film stars the band in their acting debuts alongside Academy Award nominated Michael Fassbender with Simone Kirby, Jessica Reynolds, Fionnuala Flaherty and Josie Walker.


Rapping in their native Irish language, KNEECAP fast become the unlikely figureheads of a Civil Rights movement to save their mother tongue. But the trio must first overcome police, paramilitaries, and politicians trying to silence their defiant sound while their anarchic approach to life often makes them their own worst enemies.
