The life of punk misfit and Dunedin Sound legend and punk renegade, Shayne Carter (Straitjacket Fits, Dimmer). Carter takes us on an iconoclastic tour through a career of highs and lows from suburban Dunedin to the heights of international fame and back again.
From the bowels of stodgy 1980s New Zealand came Flying Nun, a musical movement so loud it was heard all around the world. Riding that wave was Shayne Carter, a renegade, Māori, teenage punk with a loud mouth and a blistering guitar. Life in One Chord follows Shayne through horrifying tragedy to the heights of international fame, and back again. His friends, family and bandmates illuminate his journey, which is one of a true artist, who never, even at his lowest points, retreats from the creative call.
