About the event
The Makorori Environmental Protection Society (MEPS) is kicking off the planting season with their first community planting day and they’re calling on volunteers to help get 6000 native plants in the ground.
There’ll be tasks for all ages, so it’s a great one to bring the whānau along for.
Volunteers are asked to come prepared with tools, gloves, a bucket, warm clothes and sturdy footwear.
The GDC Freshwater Team will be on hand with a sausage sizzle and kōrero about catchment planning in the area.
Park near the playground and follow the GDC flags to find the planting zone.
