An exhibition by Aimee Gruar and Justin Hawksworth.
This exhibition combines two friends' love for feathers.
Aimee is an Auckland artist who has long been inspired by the Huia bird and its history. The Huia is a recurring theme in Aimee's mixed media works. In this exhibition she creates with retro fabrics and lace.
These form a flock together with copper feathers by Gisborne/Auckland based artist Justine Hawksworth. New Zealand birds are also a recurring theme in Justin's paintings. Her copper feathers are patinated and drawn with coastal, nautical themes, board and plants.
