About the event
Directed by Michelle Walshe and Lindsay Utz, this documentary follows Dame Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand’s 40th Prime Minister, through the defining moments of her leadership. From her compassionate response to the Christchurch mosque attacks to her decisive and often controversial COVID-19 strategy, the film weaves together public moments, unseen home videos, unheard audio, and reflections from Ardern today.
At once deeply personal and globally resonant, it offers an unprecedented glimpse of a leader balancing empathy with authority in a complex and divided world.
Winner of the Audience Award for World Cinema Documentary at Sundance 2025 and Best International Documentary at the Sydney Film Festival 2025. Currently sitting at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
