River Run Series

The Gisborne Harriers' River Run Series starts up in early February. And just in time, with all the holiday and long-weekend merriment sending our once-regular walking/running routine out of whack. The River Run series will be there for you and the family for 8 weeks. The course starts at the grassy area outside Lawson Field Theatre. It follows the footpath and doesn't cross any major roads so it's great for walkers, whānau with pushchairs, kids with bikes, people with dogs on leads, etc. Of course, it's also good for runners who like a flat, fast course to work on speed and endurance. But the Harriers are all about runners and walkers of all speeds, so you won't be alone if a slow jog or walk is more your thing. 

You can choose to do 1 lap (2.5km) or 2 laps (5km). Walk, run, or a little of both. It's the same course for the series which is great if you're looking for a consistent activity or you want to improve your speed.

The club are working on learning a new timing system so until this up and running, you'll need to time yourself (if this is something you care about). 

Register from 5:30 for a  6 pm start. $2 entry or Free for #rungisborne members (OR if you bring a spot prize like a bag of produce from your garden). Stay for the prize draw and you might win someone else's yummy garden bounty!
