Set in 1977 during Brazil’s military dictatorship, the film follows Armando, a former professor returning to his hometown of Recife in search of refuge from a shadowy past.

What he finds instead is a city humming with tension, vibrant, watchful, and far from safe. Painstakingly recreated, the Recife of the 1970s becomes a character in itself: colourful, chaotic, and quietly dangerous.

Led by an award-winning performance from Wagner Moura, this is a politically charged spy thriller that unfolds slowly and deliberately, pulling viewers into a world where memory, surveillance, and survival collide
