Seniors Climate Change Adaptation Meeting

The elderly and disabled are one of the most vulnerable communities to climate change impacts like Cyclone Gabrielle. The Seniors Climate Action Network in cooperation with Tairawhiti Community Voice is hosting a hui to discuss an initiative that would involve Gisborne seniors/pakeke, NGOs and service provider organisations to develop a long-term climate adaptation plan. The project would be seniors-led and build on their lifetime experience, wisdom and skills to identify practical strategies that address elder community and service provider vulnerabilities.
