About the event
Kicking things off at 8:30 pm, local band IWI brings the groove, warming up the room with their signature sound and on-stage charisma. From 9:30 pm until late, it’s over to Sonorous, a blues-rock trio out of Taupō known for their explosive performances and gritty, soul-charged sound.
With Lucian McDermott on vocals and guitar, Khani Te Mete on bass, and Cooper Paalvast behind the kit, Sonorous blends blues roots with driving rock rhythms to deliver a sound that’s raw, loud, and entirely their own. Since forming in 2021, they’ve built a loyal fanbase on both sides of the ditch, shared the stage with acts like Simple Minds, Collective Soul, and Grant Haua, and played major festivals like Greenstone Entertainment’s Summer Concert Series.
Fresh off the release of new original music and with a debut album on the way, this is a band on the rise and one you’ll want to say you saw live.
