About the event

Directed by Dominique Baumard and winner of the Special Jury Prize at the l’Alpe d’Huez Film Festival, this French comedy takes audiences on a wildly inventive ride through one of the most famous art heists in recent history.


On the night of May 19, 2010, five priceless paintings by artists including Matisse, Modigliani, and Picasso disappeared from the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, never to be recovered. This outrageous, madcap film imagines the chaotic, hilarious, and unexpected events that could have followed.


Melvil Poupaud (Jeanne du Barry) stars as Yonathan, a meticulous and anxious watch expert whose quiet life is thrown into disarray when he crosses paths with Eric (Sofiane Zermani), a brash and smooth-talking con artist. When Eric enlists Jo (Steve Tientcheu, Neneh Superstar), the infamous “Spider Man of Paris,” to pull off the legendary theft, the three men’s lives become entwined in a dizzying spiral of schemes, misunderstandings, and escalating…
