Dome Cinema and Bar, 38 Childers Road, Gisborne 4010, New Zealand

About the event

Directed by Loren Taylor, this New Zealand black comedy follows three women - a duped mail-order bride, a numbed anaesthetist determined to have a romantic weekend, and an empty nester on an unexpected mission of mercy - as each navigates her way through an unfamiliar landscape and the contours of the human heart.  Loren Taylor wrote, directs, and stars as Briar in The Moon Is Upside Down, which she describes as “an existential cathartic comedy.” Alongside Loren, The Moon Is Upside Down stars some of New Zealand’s most revered actors, including Elizabeth Hawthorne, Robbie Magasiva, Robyn Malcolm, Rachel House and Jemaine Clement, joined by international talent Victoria Haralabidou.  'An uproarious and cleverly dark-humoured rollercoaster. A must-watch, a thought-provoking examination of connection, loneliness, and the unpredictable twists of fate'. Tallinn Black Nights
