About the event
Spotlight Screening of The World’s Fastest Indian, starring the incomparable Anthony Hopkins as Invercargill speedster Burt Munro. Armed with a 1920 Indian motorcycle, decades of tinkering, and that unbeatable Kiwi grit, Burt heads to Utah’s Bonneville Salt Flats to chase the land-speed record at the age of 68. Directed by Roger Donaldson, this feel-good film is packed with humour, heart, and horsepower.
A standout at the 2006 NZ Film Awards, taking home Best Film, Director, Screenplay and Actor, it’s a story that’ll have you cheering for the underdog and maybe even wiping a tear.
